Letmelinkyou wasn't just a thought. Derk came up with it by connecting the 'A friend's friend' philosophy, where customers of that company introduced their friends (or customers) to the company Derk works for. The first idea was to enable anyone to introduce people to each other in an easy manner. Of course, many platforms support this feature, but no one is getting a Facebook or Linkedin or twitter app just for connecting people. It's already embedded within the apps of those platforms. But what if the friends are in 2 different networks.
From this start Letmelinkyou became the talk of the day between Derk and Felix. After Derk first mentioned it we actually didn't think about it for 3 months, but then there was an additional spark somehow that restarted the idea. During a dinner with Thomas, Chiel and some more members of the fraternity we are all members of, it took 2 sentences to get Chiel and Thomas aboard (literally).

A combination of interests in Hospitality and Technology brought me to Sitemaken.nl, a kind of Wordpress but a lot simpler that lasted 6 years and never really boomed. After finishing Hotelschool The Hague I was hired at Seats2meet.com, a brand new concept with meeting rooms and open workspace. From Seats2meet i transferred to Igluu, setting up Letmelinkyou.com along the way. The offline experience in how networks behave and evolve has brought me a lot of inspiration for this app.

I am working as a Web Development & Site Manager for the Free Media Group, I always wanted to be a entrepreneur. During my last internship on The Hotelschool The Hague, I started working at the Free Media Group, where my responsibilities were online investment competitions. Along the way I gained more responsibilities and now I am responsible for Web Development & Site Management @ Free Media Group

After finishing Hotelschool The Hague I started working at Foodstep. Foodstep is the innovative partner who is able to provide focused and sustainable improvement of people and organisations. Foodstep, with its strong focus on the food, drink and sleep market, can use its network to link people, organisations and propositions to multiple parties, resulting in high-quality impulses and cost efficiency for its clients. In 2009 I set up WK Vuvuzela, a company that imported the Vuvuzela, together with a good friend. In 2010 I started Smokey Goodness, a barbeque catering company.
